This past weekend Paul's folks came to Dallas for a visit. Unfortunately, Texas kicked it into high gear and we hit triple digits! I'm pretty sure they were dying of heat -- but they were good sports and we did a little sight seeing.
We went to Dodie's Cajun Grille for some southern creole on Thursday - it was actually quite lovely to eat outside! On Friday we went to Watters Crossing in Allen for some shopping and dinner. There was also a great band playing on the green -- we had front row seats from the patio!
Saturday morning Paul took his folks to the zoo -- they had been there before but he wanted to show them the new area where he is hosting his DAYL benefit this fall. I joined them after the gym and we all got ready for a day at the Fort Worth Stockyards. It was a HOT day, but worth the heat and the drive. We browsed around the cowboy shops and had lunch at celebrity chef Tim Love's "Love Shack" -- it was dangerously delicious! The burgers were to die for! There was a great guy playing on the patio -- Brad Hines. I already downloaded some of his music! Fort Worth is TRUE country -- people were two-steppin to the music, cowboys walking around everywhere, cattle in the street. You really feel like you're in DEEP Texas here! Love it!
After a long day in Fort Worth we spent the evening relaxing and cooking out at our house. Paul grilled up some yummy BBQ chicken and we drank wine and sat by the pool. Sunday was church and brunch at Breadwinners - our favorite! And Paul took them to the airport that evening. We loved showing them our new home and all the things we love about Texas!
