Happy Birthday Jenn!

Today is my sisters 37th birthday! Yes, she is 12 years older than me but we're still so close! She's been an amazing role model, friend and sister! I love you Omo! :-)

Reason I love Texas #163

Janaury 30, 2007 7:30am

Today I stepped outside wearing jogging pants and a sweatshirt ready to head for the fitness center at our apartment complex. I took a deep breath of the cool, crisp Texas air and looked up at the sun rising beginning to warm the day and thought, "aww, this is why I live here!"

Joys of Parenting

Milo is doing soooo well after his surgery that he has ALL of his Super-Dog puppy energy back. He is running around like crazy, wanting to play, jump and fetch! Unfortunately, all of this is happening between the hours of 11pm and 4am... we haven't been getting any sleep! Of course, sending him to doggie daycare would surely wear him out but we can't send the little guy to play until the stiches are "officially" healed. I guess we'll just be zombie's this week and hope that an extra long walk will do the trick?

Successful Surgery

Well, Milo made it through his surgery sucessfully! He actually had to get some baby teeth pulled too so it was an extra long day for the little guy. So, he stayed the night at the Vet on Friday. So, that night Paul and I went out for some of the best burgers in Dallas at Snuffers - where I of course had a chicken sandwich! :-) After a few drinks we decided to call it a night since Paul had to work the next day. The next morning I was excited to pick up Milo from the Vet. He was in VERY good spirits and happy to see us :-) We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing together -- and Milo slept a lot!

He's me and Milo watching Entourage re-runs together on Sunday -- nothings better than a day on the couch!

Here's my puppy asleep next to Paulie! It was great to have a weekend home to spend with Milo and with each other. It forced us to slow down a bit and actually relax!

Here's all the "weekend-in" material we got. And yes, we watched all three movies and I read almost all of those magazines!

Old Friends!

Kate & I back at WMU

Paul and I had the pleasure of seeing kate this week while she was in Dallas for business. It was soooo great catching up -- even if it was WAY past my bedtime on a school night ;-) I don't usually head out to Mercy wine bar at 10:30 on Thursday very often.... but it was another long week at work and that bottle of wine was calling my name! I love catching up with old friends over vino -- it doesn't get better than that. I love you Kater!

Paul and I also celebrated a few birthday's this week -- Monday night at the bowling alley for Randy and David Kuliks at Mi Concina on Thursday. Sadly, Paul was actually sore from the physical exercise he exerted from bowling... Milo and I will have to take him on our jogs i think!

Cold Front!

Yes, Friday it's suppose to be cold and icy in Dallas! The whole city is talking about it. Today we got an email from work telling us to make sure to call in and check the machine before we drive in -- the office might be closed due to weather conditions. Stay home y'all it's 34 degrees and rainy! (possibility of ice storm!)
However, it doesn't look like this cold front will last long -- Monday we'll see temps in the 70's again. Thank goodness!

Keep Milo in your prayers....

Yes, the time has come...little Milo has his surgery this Friday. Poor guy doesn't even know it's coming! Although, I feel like he might? He's been so naughty lately...it's like he secretly knows he's losing his manhood!!!

Seriously, we pray everything goes well for our little one!

Mavs vs. Sonics

Well, after several hours (and several drinks) at The Tavern we finally made our way across the street to the American Airlines center for the Mav's game. I believe Kenz and I stayed the entire 1st quarter before making our way to the Platinum Level for apps and drinks. I must say the view of the game is much better with a mojito in hand :-) We made friends quickly and enjoyed our first Mav's game until... we couldn't find Dave & Paul when it ended.
The place was pretty well cleared out when Kenz asked our seat lady Wanda for help. Wanda mistakenly started looking for a "Mr. David Paul" and had all sections helping us look for him! It was quite funny but really wasn't helping us any! At one point, a section lady asked if this was a guy we "just picked up" or if we really were with ths guy...Hello, this was my husband and her boyfriend. Which, they were probably still slightly confused since Wanda had them looking for ONE man, a Mr. David Paul! :-)
Finally Wanda got us to a security guard with a cell phone, (obviously we didn't have ours or we would of avoided this problem!) and we finally got a hold of Paul -- they were at the Tavern...should of known we would find them back at the bar!

Hot Couple!

We're totally Platinum level material :-) (especially in our sexy green matching shirts!)

Good luck finding two guys in this place!

DuKe GaMe

Saturday was another great day in the BIG D! Paul made us a delicious breakfast and we all headed out to Grapevine Mills Mall to do a little outlet shopping. After Neimnas Last Call, Off Saks and EVERYTHING in between we finally made our way to a late lunch at Salt Water Willy's. Paul ordered Alligator for everyone...yes, Alligator! We all tried something new that day!

With no time to spare we headed downtown to "The Tavern" because THE DUKE game was starting at 5pm and heaven forbid we miss one single minute of that game! But the Mav's game started at 8pm so Kenz and I had over 3 hours to sit, drink and chat....

Surprisingly, time went fast --With Paul and Dave sitting next to us we had guy after guy coming up to chat!!! It's actually quite humurous? Did they not even think we were with our guys? Nonetheless, it kept us occupied the entire game as we drank our V&T's :-) The Mav's game was starting before we even knew it!

Here's the hottest ladies in Dallas! hahaha

The biggest, most abnoxious Duke fans in Dallas!

Dave as a Tourist!

We eventually got a table all together after the Duke game, (that's when our boys were ready to pay attention to us again!) :-)

Happy Birthday Dave!

After a long trying night Dave and Mackenzie finally got to enjoy a little of Dallas. Paul took them to lunch at Olivers and went downtown to see the sights. From what I understand the grassy knoll was a hit.

That night we took Dave out to celebrate his 26th birthday with dinner at Uncle Julios, (if you're a frequent reader of this blog you know thats one of our favorites!!!) After enjoying what I consider fabulous margarittas and excellent fajitas we went out for YES, more drinks at Houlihans where we met up with Rob and a few very drunken gals. Which made for a very entertaining evening!

After a few rounds we called it a night and ended the big bday with cake and ice cream at our place. Oh, and a gift for Dave. It wouldn't be Dave's birthday without PRESENTS!

Here's Kenz & The Birthday Boy at Uncle Julios!

Long week

What a long week! Paul and I have both been swamped at work and so exhausted each night. So, when Rob called last night to go out for drinks we didn't hesitate -- we were at Black Finn faster than you can say, "Cowboys sucked because of Jessica Simpson!" (hahaha) So, after a few V&T's with a couple friends we got a call that Dave and MacKenzie's flight was delayed from Chicago. Eventually we headed home and got another call that they were getting on a plane...so we thought. Needless to say, they didn't get to Dallas until 4am! Bless Paul's heart for staying up all night and getting them at the airport. Something tells me we'll be celebrating Dave's birthday tonight by having a low key dinner and drinks -- save the partying for tomorrow!

In case y'all were wondering, the pool is still open at our apartment, (although it's the coldest its been EVER since we lived here, high 40s yesterday -- yuck!) We're taking reservations at Hotel de Simes for all weekends in March! We've heard thats when we'll see consistent 80 temps again :-)

Date Night

On Friday night Paul and I went out for "date night" -- yes, just the two of us ! We've been so busy lately with jobs, friends and little Milo that we enjoyed a well deserved night out! We had dinner at a El Fenix and had drinks at Love and War in Texas, (www.loveandwarintexas.com/) yes that really is the name! The live music was great and you can't beat sitting outside with a bottle of Shinerbock beer in January :-) Although, I must admit, we were wearing our coats -- 65 is cold for us Texans! But this weekend we're suppose to see our very first Dallas flurries! Just in time for Dave and Kenz -- sorry guys!

We're told that this guy is an up and coming country singer? Too bad I don't even remember his name?

And this blog post would not be complete without a picture of Milo -- check out his Mickey Mouse shirt! It was a Christmas present from little Jacob DeWitt.

Somebody Loves Me!

Last week Paul sent flowers to my office for no reason at all -- just to say he loved me. Awww...I know, how sweet! I'm such a lucky gal!

75 in January?

What a beautiful weekend! We couldn't ask for better weather in January! Milo was loving it...and we were too :-) 75 & Sunny!
Friday night Paul went out with the AA crew for Happy Hour and then met up with me at Bene Bene for more drinks (go figure!) and dinner. It's a new restaurant near our place we've been meaning to try out. It was delicious Italian food for our date night!
On Saturday I took Milo for a long run/walk to the park where he barked and barked at a little poodle! We really need to teach him to not be such a bully! Someone should tell him he's a very little white dog! Afterwards Paul and I ran a few errands in Grapevine -- Yes, we went to Off 5th, (Saks Outlet) and Banana Republic Outlet! Gotta love after Christmas shopping!
That evening Paul's buddy from MSU law, Derrick Johnson, (who now lives in Dallas too) took us out to our favorite Mexican place for dinner -- Uncle Julios! Its was of course delicious! After dinner we grabbed drinks at Mercy wine bar -- none of us really know how to order wine there -- but it sure is good wine and ambience!

Here's Milo on our walk... what a cute little pup!

Here's Paul and I sitting outside at Mercy Wine Bar -- What a lovely evening!
No bar night would be complete without a little guitar heros! (I even beat Derrick!)

New Years Eve 2007

Happy New Years! Here are a few pics from our night out at Scottish Rite Mansion Downtown Dallas. Our friends from Addison Circle were throwing a party there and they thought of EVERYTHING! Black Jack tables, fire juggler, DJ, band, food, and of course booze :-)
