It's getting warmer....

Texas Spring has arrived! We're due for a week of "70's and sunny!" Whoo hoo!

I sure need a little sunshine with margarita in hand --- it's been a rough couple weeks! In review...

My car died on the tollway at 5:30am - yikes! And then the wrong tow truck came, (I didn't know to request a flatbed?) Then, being the trusting Mid-Westerner that I am, I just gave the tow truck guy the keys to my car and he said he would take care of it! Then he took me to work in that HUGE tow truck...sad, but true. It wasn't till 10am that I received a call from the dealership that my car finally arrived... and then there was the estimate, yuck!

After that shi**y day came more crap, literally! Little Milo has had the poops! And there were "accidents" ALL over the house. And then came the throw up... enough on that. But let's just say we need our carpets professionally cleaned ASAP! But Milo is doing MUCH better -- poor dogger!

Oh, and today was then dentist..3 cavities, nuff said :(

So, life has thrown us a few curve-balls lately but we're hanging in there! Hope y'all are doing fab!

Rock to Victory Half Marathon!!!

I Finished!

Yes, I completed my first half marathon - "Rock to Victory" :-) today!!!! The race course went through downtown Dallas and ended at American Airlines Center for a total of 13.1 miles!!!

I'm VERY happy to report that I COMPLETED the race and did it in 1:58:48. I came in under 2 hours which is a HUGE accomplishment for me, (especially since my goal was to just finish and jog the entire way!)
I was 568 overall and 23rd in my age-group (25-29) -- which isn't too bad for a beginner! Right?

A few people in my running group bailed on the race (didn't plan so well that it just happened to be St. Paddy's day weekend...) but my friend Beth and I ran it together and felt awesome afterwards. Much better than green beer! :-)

Here's a few pics from the race -- from my loving, supportive hubby!

Ready to run!

And we're off!

And I'm running!

We did it!

We're here

Ok, I'm trying to stay "updated" on my posts -- but it's just so hard! Especially when I'm not sitting at a computer all day anymore. Working in an office it was so easy to wonder off to the blogs...

Nowdays, I would consider myself an official gym-rat! Not desk junkie -- But, I love it :-) (knock of wood...) Business is still growing and doing well so I am sooo thankful for that!

This past weekend we got a real taste of summer with 85 degree weather (don't worry it didn't stick -- today is a freezing 50 and raining!) but it was a fantastic Sunday! We went to the pool, sat in the sun and BBQ'd all day. It gave us a glimpse of whats to come in a few weeks! Not to mention a nice March "glow" or tan :) Drinking all day made for a rough Monday morning -- how quickly we forget how that affects us!

Also, while Paul was working on Saturday I did my last "long run" before the big race next weekend. Yes, I ran 10 miles by myself -- no one else there to push me! And, I'm happy to report I did it. This is my very first 1/2 marathon I'm attempting so...keep my in your prayers!

Later!
