You gotta have FRIENDS

This weekend Paul and I were in town for thanksgiving and we both agree we're thankful for friends! It was so great seeing everyone while we were in town!

On Saturday I had lunch with Megan and Melissa for about two hours! We caught up over lunch and drinks at Logans - I love you girls!

That night we celebrated the 5th (i think?) Annual Friends Thanksgiving dinner at Dave's condo. 19 people crowded in for some of Brummitt's delicious turkey and Hanning's jello shots. It was good times had by all.

I love that even over the years we can all come back into town like time hasn't passed at all. I guess true friends know and love you no matter what.

Megan, Jules, Mel & Milo :-)

Let the party begin! I wonder how many bottles of wine we went through...

Dinner was awesome! It just keeps getting better every year with all of us becoming better cooks. I can still remember the first year we ate cranberry sauce strait from the can!

We played Apples to Apples, Sherades and ate delicious apple and pumpkin pie (courtesy of Megan Decker) until 1am!!!

Thanksgiving at Kargers

This past weekend Paul and I traveled home to Michigan to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. We even brought Milo home so he could meet everyone too! (he was a hit!)

Despite our travel problems (getting to MI at 3:30am) and arriving back in Dallas 8 hours behind schedule... we had a wonderful time with friends and family which made it all worth it!

On Thursday we had Thanksgiving dinner at Kargers with my entire family, Steve and Carol Simon and my Uncle Randy & Aunt Steph and their two daughters Jess & Allie. It was a house full of people, food, card games and guitar hero :-)

Friday I went shopping with my mom and sister while Paul took our nephews Connor and Colin to the Hope College Basketball game that evening with Steve and Carol. Hope lost but the boys had fun with Paulie!

'Tis the Season

This weekend Paul and I started decorating our apartment for the Holidays! We put up our 3ft tree, (courtesy of Bruce and Char) and hung our stockings with care. We even got Milo a stocking just like ours! Since we'll be in Michigan for Thanksgivng we thought we would get a jump on the holiday decorating.

70 Degrees at 7pm! Whoo hoo!

We've had such beautiful weather the last couple weeks in Dallas! The weekends especially have been lovely! Milo has been spoiled with long walks and runs outside.
But we're going to have to start bundling up. The temps are going to dip after Thanksgiving - Boo :( I guess its time to start digging out the coats and scarves!

It might be warm but the fall colors are still out!

Look at that photography :-)

Best pals. Milo always whines when Paul leaves for work!

Candle Room

This weekend Paul and I went out on the town (it was a late night for Jules!) We went out for dinner at Two Rows and went to Mercy Wine Bar before meeting up with Steven, Susan and a few of Paul's law buddies downtown for drinks. We celebrated Steven's birthday at the Candle Room (http://www.candleroomdallas.com/)

Here's us at Mercy Wine Bar in Addison. They have the best fruit and cheese plate!

Boring Lawyers... Birthday boy, (Steven) is in the middle

Hard to believe this guy got the best BAR exam score in the state of Texas?

Mr. Milo Simon

Now that Milo doesn't have his day-time friend anymore (now that Paul's working) we're looking into doggie daycare. We hate to see the little guy cooped up all day and it would be great for him to make some more doggie friends. He is kind of known as a bully around our apartment complex believe it or not!

Our little furball -- He sure loves to play outside. I think Milo loves the weather as much as his mama!

It's getting harder for us to get Milo to pose for pictures! He has so much engery and excitement ALL the time now. This past weekend I took him running with me and he RAN the entire 2 mile route. He was pretty determined -- must be a Simon :-)

Update

Well, it sure has been busy for Paul and I the last couple weeks! After learning that Paul passed the Texas Bar exam he quickly began a position at American Airlines headquarters working with their legal department and AA's law firm on a big temporary project. Since they needed him to start right away we were unable to take our trip to Austin for Paul to get officialy "sworn in" to the State of Texas as a licensed attorney. It especially was a bummer since one of Paul's good friends was speaking at the ceremony. However, I'm sure we'll get to Austin someday and Paul can get sworn-in at the Dallas courthouse.

Our weekends have been filled with dinner dates, grabbing drinks with friends and holiday shopping . It's wierd seeing all the Christmas decorations out when it's sunny and 75 degrees? And shoppers without coats!? I'm sure being home at Thanksgiving will get us in the holiday spirit! And yes, we're bringing little Milo home with us. We booked his ticket yesterday! I wonder if he'll need a sweater? I better start looking...

Birthday Party

On Saturday Paul and I were invited to a birthday party for an old co-worker of mine from M2W, Inc. -- Christine Baker. It was a suprise party her husband put on for her at Mi Cocina at Legacy Park. It was a great party and wonderful to see so many people from M2W that I haven' t been able to catch up with yet since we've been down in Dallas!!! We all wrapped up the night at Martini Park...where I ordered diet coke since Sunday was the big Dicks Grand Opening!

Dicks Grand Opening

This weekend Paul and I worked for Clare - M2W, Inc. as the Grand Opening Staff at Dicks Sporting Goods. There were three Dicks opening this weekend in the DFW area! I worked with our friend Rob at the north Dallas Galleria location and Paul and our friend Mike D. worked at the Fort Worth Hurst location. The stores were very successful and we had a lot of fun with the giveaways, games, food and prizes!

Yes, Paul did finally get the fleece out the block of ice! It melted quickly in the Dallas sun :-)

Congrats Paul!

Today we found out (after 3 months of waiting) that Paul passed the Texas state BAR exam and now is Paul Wesley Simon, esq. WHOO HOO!!!

Sweetie, I can't tell you how proud I am of you! All your hard work and commitment has paid off. I know you will make an amazing lawyer! I love you.

Trick or Treat - an 80 Degree Halloween!

Milo was a little pumpkin for Halloween this year -- he was adorable! Unfortunately, we didn't have any trick-or-treaters to show him off to. However, Paul was excited to enjoy our trick-or-treat candy all to himself. At 7pm last night he was already digging into the Reeses Peanut Butter cups!
At Nouveau the Marketing department dressed up as M&M's -- you can see my green T-Shirt behind Milo. My team didn't win the costume contest, (or the chili contest, or the pumpkin carving contest, or the candy guessing game) but we are still the best team!

Our little Pumpkin!

Paul loved Milo in his costume although he'll never admit it!
