Thank you...

I just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you who have sent emails, called and have put me in your thoughts in prayers this week. I appreciate everything so much. Much love to all!

Not sure what I'll do next? But the good news is there are a lot of opportunities down here so I'm sure I'll find something (eventually!) that I'll love. I'm going to start looking aggressively in a few weeks or so. But for now I'm taking easy -- Paul really wants me to take this time for myself as work was really starting to stress me. So, I'm doing just that. It's hard to slow down though! Yesterday I took Milo to the groomer, cleaned the whole apartment, baked a bread, cooked a casserole for dinner, went for a long run, got groceries, went to the bank, the tanner, and applied for unemployment, (yipee!) -- So, it's like now what? I didn't leave much for the next day! Paul suggested becoming and "expert" on guitar heros but I don't see that happening!!! :-)

Again, thanks for thinking of me!

What do I want to when I grow up?

Yes, I'm back to square one. Unfortunately, the worst has happened to me -- I was laid off! It really sucks being the most recent hire and a young 20-something in marketing... but what are you going to do!? My self-esteem has taken a hit, even though "it's not personal - it's business"

So, I'm going to take this time for myself, maybe just find "any old job" before I jump into something corporate again. I want to make sure it's a position that I'll love -- whether that's marketing or not!!!

Wish me luck!

Mischievous Milo ...

Milo has been getting into a little mischief lately...as you can see he had a heyday with the toilet paper, (the entire roll!!!) and ate a hole in our wall! Yes, the dead center of the wall? Why he chose to do eat the middle of the wall I will never know but I do know we've said good-bye to our apartment deposit! LOL!

Boys Weekend

Ed & Paul at Uncle Julio's

Paul, Derek & Ed at Outer Marker

This weekend Paul's friend Ed from law school came down from Indianapolis to visit. Derek who also went to MSU with them who now lives in Dallas hung out all weekend too -- and it sure was a "boys weekend!"

On Friday us Texan's wanted to take Ed out for some excellent Tex Mex so we of course headed to our favorite place -- Uncle Julios! We got "The Cadillac Fajitas" for a treat which was Lobster, Steak and of course a little Chicken for Jules :-) After we stuffed ourselves we headed over to Outer Marker to catch up with a few friends who were celebrating a bday party. The karaoke was hilarious and the drinks were stiff but we called it a night by 1am.

On Saturday Paul took Ed on a driving tour of the city where they got a chili dog from a vendor which I think they regreted the entire evening! But that night we went to an amazing Steak House, Pappas Bros. It must of been a good steak place because they didn't even have a chicken option on the menu! So, I ate like a man that night, (I hope I can fit in my jeans after this weekend!) We stayed and listened to the jazz in the bar and drank wine till midnight. We had the most amazing time at Pappas.

Sunday morning Paul and I took Ed to our favorite breakfast place, (the only real "ma & pop" breakfast place we've found) - Bread Winners. After several cups of coffee and a breakfast scramble we headed home to watch sports of course, (hense the boys weekend!)

Ed's flight wasn't until 8pm so we headed to the Gaylord Texan for an early dinner at the Sports Bar with the 52' by 30' half circle TV. I have to admit, it was pretty cool -- even I didn't mind watching the Mav's game in the nice comfy seats.

Long Week...

I'm so glad it's Friday! What a long week, (and I was only in the office 3 days!) But being sick is no fun either :-( Plus Paul had some major deadlines so he worked till 8 or 9pm a few nights this week, both of our offices have been crazy and sadly, I don't think I cooked a meal at home one time this week! And then we're having company this weekend -- but at least that will be fun. Paul has been looking forward to Ed coming to Dallas for a while now. So, I think Derek Johnson, (his other MSU law buddy who now lives in Dallas too) made some dinner reservations this weekend so I think we're going to treat ourselves after a week from Hell.... I think we earned it!

The flu bug finally caught me :-(

This weekend Paul went with Rob to see Country Mouth play at the House of Blues downtown. Unfortunately, I was unable to tag along because I was home with the flu. Yep, from Friday night on I was down with the bug -- it totally sucked! After a long weekend filled with videos, cuddling with Milo and a whole lotta of sleeping I finally made it to work on Wednesday. Paul took very good care of me running to Walgreens pretty much everyday for Rx's, Gatorade, and good ole saltines! I think the worst is over now!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Paul and I celebrated the day of love by having dinner at P.F. Changs last night. We enjoyed delicious lettuce wraps, Chang’s spicy chicken and a few cocktails before heading home to unwrap a few gifts :-) I got Paul a “men’s leather bracelet” and a Dolce belt – he got me new black jogging pants that I had been wanting. It’s days like Valentines that I am reminded how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband who takes such good care of me, (and Milo too!)

Here's Paul and I having dinner at P.F. Changs dressed in our pink and red!

Here's little Milo with his Valentine, (a frog with rope arms and legs). Paul gave it to him a little early so Milo has almost ate the head off! Guess it was a cheap toy...opps!

Hanging in the Big D

On Friday Paul and I grabbed dinner at another new restaurant - La Hacienda Ranch. Paul thinks we need to try a different restaurant EVERY weekend since the choices are endless here in the Big D. Yet, I keep dragging him back to my old favs, such as, Uncle Julio's! Which drives hims completely nuts!

It was such a nice weekend (70's) that I thought Paul and I should take advantage of it. So, I talked him into going running with me on Saturday morning. He started off strong, (and cocky!) but as we continued down Frankford, (a busy main road where he could easily be spotted) he quickly urged me to turn around -- when I asked "why?" he responded by explaining that he didn't want to have to "walk" on Frankford. That was for wussies -- we needed to turn around and jog to a side rode immediately! Oh, macho man!

Needless to say, he didn't go jogging Sunday -- he just went and shot hoops after watching the game with Rob. I guess he needed some boy time! That's fine -- he was just holding me back on my jog anyway :-) haha

Valentine's Day Party

Saturday Paul and I went out to Lauren's brothers place for a Valentines Party, (it's her brothers b-day on V-day). Everyone dressed in Pink, Red & White, ate decorated cupcakes and drank LOVE POTION :-) It was great to see Lauren and Lisa again since it had been so long!!! We chatted for hours over delicious love potion and even Paulie was a good sport in his pink shirt!

Tired little puppy!

This was Milo's first week back at daycare after a two week break due to surgery. Let me tell you -- he went back hard and ready to play! He was EXHAUSTED every night this week and looked like he had been beat up -- pictures tell it all!

Girls Night | Sushi Night

Last night I went out with some girlfriends to celebrate a "friend of a friends" birthday at Chaucers Sushi and Grille. It was delicious sushi and great girl time! I love just laughing, drinking and hanging out after a long day of work. Afterwards we continued the celebration with the whole gang at Black Finn with of course, a few more cocktails :-)

6th Month Anniversary!

Well, Paul and I have managed to reach our 6th month mark -- we've been married since August 4th. Time sure does fly!

Last night we celebrated with leftover Mexican casserole from the Super Bowl, I ran Milo, Paul shot hoops and I watched a re-run of Gossip Girl. Man, are we an old married couple already?

But seriously, it's been an amazing 6 months and I cherish the time we've spent together. Even more, I look forward to the future we're building!

Milo's definitely at 100%

Milo sees the vet this week to get his stitches out -- finally! I know he is dying to go back to daycare and get out of the house more. He has so much energy and has Paul and I playing with him non-stop. We've been going on more walks (or should I say runs!) than ever before! I must say, it's nice to see the surgery hasn't really affected him -- but having to coop him up is wearing us out!

This weekend Paul and I had were pretty laid back. Paul had to work both Saturday and Sunday to make a hot deadline for American so I just hung out with little Milo. But, Paul and I managed to make it out for date night on Friday to Uncle Julio's after Paul's happy hour and Saturday Paul met up with some law buddies at M Bar. And let's not forget the Super Bowl on Sunday -- we stayed in since nothing was really going on? I was in bed by the 4th quarter which I understand was the only quarter worth watching -- opps!

Paul and Milo getting ready to watch the Super Bowl while I prepare the munchies!

Milo sure loves Paulie! He still gets sad when Paul leaves for work :-(

Here's the view from our deck - it was beautiful this weekend! 75 and Sunny! Although, I think another coldfront is moving in this week...boo!
