Brum visits Dallas

The second week of March Aaron Brummitt came to stay with us since he had a conference in Dallas.
The boys had a wonderful week catching up, playing bball, grabbing drinks, dinner, etc. On Saturday we went to Gilley's to celebrate our friend Oscars birthday -- so Aaron could witness first-hand some true Texas culture (two-steppin, line dancing, wranglers, the works!) Also, on Thursday we literally shut down Houlihans and made a traditional stop at Taco Bell just like old times! Some things never change! We also took Aaron to Fireside pies for yummy pizza at the Shops of Legacy and of course went out for steak one night(we are in Texas!) It was a lovely week and great to catch up with Aaron before his wedding. It will be here before you know it!

Almost homeowners...

Yes, we found our first home!

We're not shouting it from the rooftops yet... we want to close first! But, basically that's all we're waiting on -- the sellers accepted our offer, everything checked out good at the inspection, the loan is good to go and we have paint colors picked out!

I must say, it needs a little work... but we (Paul) loved the location right off the Tollway and it's in Plano West Schools so it's great for re-sale. Plus, it had what we were looking for -- a pool and a nice big kitchen. So, we went for it! We'll be putting our touches on it for awhile but I trust that it will feel like home real soon. We close 3/24 and have the month of April to move in. We'll be busy bees for the next few months...

One of my clients who works in PR got me in on the launch of this new social networking site, www.bizzy.com

They asked people who work in fashion, health & fitness and some of Dallas' socialites to headline the site... still not sure how I got the nod?! ;-)

But here's the link -- it went live this month.

So....what's been going on?

Well, it's hard to believe that February has come and gone ... but it has! And we sure have been busy! February highlights include:

Superbowl party at Bracken's - Paul debuted his "healthy" jalapeno poppers and we ate WAY too much food (of course) Being from the south now we had to cheer on the Saints and we were happy to see them pull off a win! Go Louisianna!

Wine Tasting in Grapevine-We have been living in Dallas for almost 3 years and have never been over to the vineyards in Grapevine -- apparently neither have most of our friends! So, one Saturday in February we all made a day of it! We went to a few vineyards and hung out downtown. One place downtown was very techy -- you bought a card with a dollar amount and put your card in the slot, selected what wine, amount (2oz taste, 4oz taste or half glass) and then it dispensed it for you! Fancy!

Comedy Improv in Addison to see Joe Rogan - For our friend's birthday we decided to celebrate by going to see improv in Addison. Again, I haven't been over there since we've lived there so it was a new experience for Paul and me! Joe Rogan was hilarious -- and so was his opener! What a great night out! We finished the evening at Los Cabos for margaritas ...

UFC fight nights with friends - Since we've moved to Dallas we've met a lot of friends that are into "fight nights" ... which basically means someone hosts a party at their home where the guys watch the pay-per-view fights and the gals drink wine in the kitchen! It's becoming a little tradition every few weeks and something I actually look forward to! Of course, not the fights -- but the good friendships that develop over wine and snacks ;-)

Junior League's Blingo Bingo luncheon - A few Saturdays ago, the Junior League hosted its first annual "Blingo Bingo" luncheon. It was a hoot! All of us ladies dressed in our Sunday best, wore our "bling" and played bingo! All the benefits went to support our community projects in the league...what a great cause!

Jessica's Baby Shower- A few weekends ago Jessica had her baby shower! She received so many beautiful things for baby A.J. ;-) We can't wait till March 23ish when we can meet the little guy!

Valentines Day-

Paul and I celebrated Valentines day at Cantina Laredo (our same v-day spot as last year) and went to see the movie "Valentines Day" -- it was a lovely evening. However, I was most excited about my present. Never did I think I would be so excited over a techy watch... BUT, I was thrilled to receive the GARMIN 405 running watch. It tracks distance, speed, stride, heart rate, calories, EVERYTHING! So much better than a Coach bag! (Did I just write that????)

Now, onto March!!
