Not too many margs for me though, I've been up early Saturday mornings doing my long training runs. I'm still building my base -- working at 10 miles at different tempos and heart rates. Things seem to be going pretty well..but the heat is coming, ugh! (and so is the mileage increase...)
This past weekend we attended the thank you dinner for all the volunteers that worked at the American Heart Benefit - Cote de Couer. Chef Chamberlain hosted it at his home -- how wonderful! We had a lovely time, what a treat! I didn't eat all day to enjoy all the fabulous food ;-)
Also, this weekend we went to Paul's friend, Derek Johnson's, birthday party. He's dating a sweet girl who hosted his party at her parents house at White Rock Lake. They have a bowling alley on property (yes! crazy to believe, but we had so much fun!) We bowled, drank, ate and had a great time at Mt. Vernon house.
On Sunday, May 15th Paul participated in Dragon Boat racing with the DBA (Dallas BAR Association) -- they were probably the least competitive team. It was hilarious! It was similar to rowing but the paddles weren't attached. They had a cooler of screwdrivers at the tent which made it more fun ;-) And Paul got more of a workout than he anticipated! (I think he's still sore) below are a few pics from race day
Then on Tuesday, May 17 the Junior League year came to a close at the Presidents Dinner at Stonebriar Country Club. It was a lovely presentation of all the projects and volunteer work we've done throughout the year. (I even made the slideshow!) We also introduced the new "actives" and inducted a new President for 2011-2012. During this dinner each year it always makes me want to get more involved in League...and then I remember why I don't. I DON'T have any time, lol! Maybe I'll Chair a project next year...that's what I keep saying ;-) After the dinner a few of us went for drinks at One2One! Fun times!
Here's Alisa, Catrina, me and Lesley -- girls from my original PAG group ;-)
And this weekend we look forward to Jimmy Buffett maddness hitting Frisco... I can only imagine what I'll report after that! Fins up! ;-)
