Christmas seems like FOREVER ago...but I wanted to update y'all on our holiday travels and fun!
We arrived home from Mexico with just one day to unpack and re-pack and quickly celebrated a Christmas here in Dallas together before heading to Michigan.
One of the things I did for Christmas is I got Paul's law license framed for him (after almost 3 years it was about time!) So, now it is hanging nicely in his office :-) He also got me something for my home office -- he bought me the half marathon runners plaque from the DRC race I did in November. It's so cool, love it!
Upon arrival in GR we were quickly off to celebrations! First stop-Simons where we caught up with Paul's folks and were able to spend some time with Matt and Julie. It was so nice to see them all again! We enjoyed a nice dinner downtown Grand Rapids and caught up on each others lives. Christmas Eve was filled with all of the usual Simon traditions... rice pudding, open face sandwiches, the Christmas story and presents. The next day we opened stockings with the Simon's and made our way over to the Karger's for a movie and snacks.
The next day my family came over for food & presents! It was so wonderful to celebrate with everyone at my parents house! It was especially fun watching my nephews enjoy their gifts -- they're getting soooo big!
The next day we were able to celebrate the season with some of our dearest friends -- we went over to Dave and Mackenzie's new home and enjoyed wine, snacks and games. It is so wonderful to get together every year and keep our own little traditions in tact. I love our friends!
Our time in Michigan passed quickly -- but I was able to catch up with some of my Kalamazoo girls -- Thank you to Becca, Marnie and Josie for coming to GR and meeting me for drinks. I love how it doesn't seem like time has passed at all. Just like old times! Love you girls! And I was also able to see my oldest friend Martha for lunch... I miss you dearly Martha!
Happy 2010!
