Relaxing weekend with the Pooch :-)

After Paul's exhausting work trip to Austin and Houston this week and my first LONG shifts at the YMCA, (one was at 5:30am -yuck!) we were pretty beat come 5pm Friday. So, we chilled out and enjoyed some well deserved relaxation! We met some friends in uptown for drinks Saturday and I went jogging with my running group but otherwise we just caught our breath from the week.
Milo had been cooped up so we treated him to the dog park again -- what a hoot! He doesn't have much interest in playing with the little dogs his size. He just goes up to the fence and watches the BIG dogs and secretly wishes he could hop the fence! He keeps us laughing!

Dave Matthews Concert

This weekend Michael, one of my old Disney friends, (yes, a huge nerd just like me!) came to Dallas for the Dave Matthews concert. It was a very busy weekend catching up, reminiscing about old times and dancing the night away at the concert. I also was able to meet Michael's girlfriend, Libby, who also works for the Hyatt - they seem really happy! :-)

Lazy Days...

With two HUGE celebratory events in one week, (anniversary and MY birthday!) we had a pretty low key weekend -- with plenty of time spent at the pool! :-) Besides hanging poolside we took milo to the park, paul went out with the boys, I had my first Junior League meeting (yay!) and we had an exciting night in of Chinese and movies -- (old married couple already????)

This week we've been enjoying the Olympics -- I'm pretty sure Paul was yelling "USA, USA" at the TV a few times so we're really into it at the Simon household! And this weekend we'll be busy with friends visiting and the Dave Matthews concert. yeah baby!

Someone turned a year older....

It was ME!!! A big thanks to y'all who sent cards, GIFTS, emails, texts and birthday well wishes yesterday :-)

And if you were wondering what I did...I celebrated tex-mex style with dinner at Uncle Julio's with my hubby and drinks with friends at Mi Cocina.

My dear friend Megan Vescolani is on her way to being Mrs. Megan Jane McCausland! Yes, her long time BF, Clay, asked for her hand in marriage last weekend. In true Washington, D.C. style they had a roof top dinner with a view of the White House for their engagement dinner.

Congrats Meg! We can't wait till the BIG Day!

Anniversary

Times flies when you're in love! Paul and I just celebrated our first wedding anniversary! Hard to believe it's already been ONE whole year? Seems like yesterday that I was dancing with my handsome groom at Amway?
I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world -- I was just telling Paul last night that he still gives me butterflies when he walks in the room or when I see his name pop up on my phone. I may no longer be that "blushing bride" but I'm definitely that "glowing wife!"

Dallas Arboretum - Cool Thursdays in the Park

Last week Paul and I went with some friends to the Dallas Arboretum's "Cool Thursday" where we listened to a great Eagles cover band play in the park. We drank wine, ate cheese and crackers and sweat a little too as we enjoyed the music. There were some beautiful boats out on White Rock lake and the sunset was gorgeous! What a lovely night :-)
