St. Patrick's Day is like Christmas for drunks... A day where you don't get judged for drinking at 1pm on a Thursday afternoon? Where we can wear green and dance like fools and indulge in Irish food! (That we pretend to like...Shepards Pie??? C'mon!)
I am a huge fan of any event (tailgating, concerts, festivals, St. Paddy's day) where day drinking is appropriate. Just my two cents.
Moving on. This year we attended the Nelson's annual St. Paddy's day bash on Saturday. It was a lot of fun...Irish food, beer, drinks, dancing, and some basketball on TV ;-) However, at some point the night took a turn ... not crazy per se...but let's just say that Paul and I got home at 3;30am (4:30am with the time change!) YIKES!!!! That is definitely the latest I've been out since college, O.M.G. After that, I swore I wasn't going to make it out that week for the actual Thursday night St. Patrick's festivities ...but somehow I found the strength.
Thursday we went to the Shops of Legacy and sipped a few beers at the Gingerman. It was so fun seeing EVERYONE sporting their green! :-) And this time we made it home at a more reasonable hour! Lucky me.

Fat Tuesday!
What is it? Mardi Gras is french for FAT TUESDAY and culminates the day before Ash Wednesday where everyone can eat richer (fatter) and enjoy their favorites before entering the season of lent.
Well, we used it as night of celebration just as many did in Louisiana! We'll use anything as an excuse for a girls night out ;-) So, we grabbed our beads and headed to Season's 52 (the new hot restaurant at the Shops of Legacy) and made reservations at the Chef's table where we WINED and dined till our hearts content. I came from subbing a spin class so I feel I earned my carbs and wine, lol! It was a wonderful mid-week break to enjoy great company and good food.
We had the valet guy take this picture on our way out... so cute!

Blingo Bingo 2011
On February 26th the Junior League hosted it's annual BLINGO BINGO event at the Heard Craig Center. It was a sight to see all the ladies dressed up and "bling'd out" for the luncheon! We played several rounds of bingo (for fab spa prizes) while noshing on tea sandwiches, salad and drinking mimosas...several mimosas!!!
Sadly, our table was not a big winner. But we made up for it by enjoying several rounds of drinks and desserts! Plus, you gotta love dressing up and wearing your bling in the middle of a Saturday afternoon!
Big News for Kargers
So, I've been a little out of the loop with blogging...I guess you can blame it on how busy we've been! First, the big news is my brother finally put a ring on it! Yes, after 10 YEARS of dating the lovely Kori Hunter he is finally making her his wifey!
My family is sooooo excited and the adorable couple are planning a wedding in Mackinac Island on August 27th. So, Paul and I will be back this summer for "another wedding" We just can't stay away from Michigan too long ;-)
