Spring is here!

This is the time of year we can really appreciate Texas weather! Spring definitely comes early. Gotta love the 70 degree (sometimes 80!) temperatures in March. Paul and I are enjoying long walks with Milo, cocktails on our deck and having the sun roof open!

Circle Supper | Craw fish Boil

Saturday Paul and I went to our friends "Circle Super" which was New Orleans themed so they had a REAL craw fish boil! (crazy to us northerners!) Every couple months someone different hosts a theme dinner and everyone brings a dish to coordinate with the theme and we vote on best dish, best dessert and best food presentation and give prizes, (mostly booze!) for the winners. Randy's Jambalaya won last night -- excellent!

It's a great excuse to lay low that night, (everyone parties hard the Friday before) play "bags" and chill together. Paul and I were first timers this weekend, (we've been pretty busy with friends in town other times) and I'm happy to report my cornbread muffins were a hit..phew!

The view from above!

Our friends Steve and Ray playing bags against Paul. Luckily Paul held his own!

We had a crawfish race before scorching the little guys...here's Paul's contestant. (he didn't budge!)

And they're off!

The loser!

Yummy crawfish!

Yes, I was a big girl and tried it...still not sure about it though!

Panty Snatcher!

Milo loves laundry day...he especially loves panties! (true boy!) We can't catch him once he gets them either. Therefore, the laundry basket is now moved above the washer! You never know when company might be over -- that could be very embarrassing!

Easter

Happy Easter from Jules, Paul & Milo!

We went to Church at Prestonwood and then I dug into preparing my first Easter Brunch! I must say it was success! Deviled eggs, Veggie Egg Casserole, and Paul made his mom's yummy cinnamon rolls! Oh, and let's not forget the Mimosas! There was SOOOO much food! So, we had brunch again for dinner too :-)

Here's Milo with his Easter basket!

Here's Me and Milo before Church - he's in his Easter outfit from Grandma Char! So cute!

Here's our lovely center piece - courtesy of Bruce and Char. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Here's Milo pooped out from the long day!

How's your bracket?

As you can imagine we've been watching A LOT of basketball at our place this weekend. We kicked it off with a March Madness watch party at Robs on Friday. Everyone had the day off for Good Friday so we all went over there to watch four screens of basketball madness! After HOURS of drinking and grilling we finally called it quits, (for the day at least!)
By the time Saturday evening came around I told Paul I needed some white meat, (no more burgers!) and some wine with dinner, (no more beer!)

I got tagged | let's talk about me!

Kate tagged me on her most recent post to fill out this survey and since I have a few minutes before my 3pm appointment I figured I would be nice and do it :-)

10 Years Ago:

I was a measly 15 years-old (wishing I was older) taking drivers training and spending every waking second at Martha Bouwens pool hoping that boys would show up -- boys that could drive! There were a lot of trips to the Dairy Y and Olde Mill if I remember correctly... Oh, and I'm pretty sure I was swimming still -- A LOT!

Things on my to-do list today:

  1. Go to the gym
  2. Lunch with Rob
  3. Search Jobs online
  4. Call Louis Vuitton and convince the B*tches in the store to fix my handbag zipper!
  5. Make a meatloaf for dinner in honor of St. Patrick's Day. (I'm not sure if it's an Irish dish or not, but I'm pretending it is.
  6. Clean up the house from having the boys over last night for dinner
  7. Walk Milo!

Three Bad Habits:
  1. Twirling my hair! I do this when I'm bored, tired, or anxious... Like Paul says, "It's so unprofessional and annoying!" So, I'm trying to be better....trying!
  2. I have to watch TV to fall asleep at night -- not good for REM sleep, I know!
  3. I can't bring myself to throw my running shoes away! I think I have 7 very old pairs, (all almost exactly the same) stashed in our little apartment! It's like they're part of me!

If I suddenly became a billionaire:

I would pay off Paul's law school loans for sure! Then give him the funds he needs to set up a private practice, (crazy kid would still want to work) I would make sure my folks retired right away!!! And would set them up with a house here in Dallas so they can spend 6 months here in the winter to get out of that michigan messy coldness! The nephews would have their college paid for and I would make sure Paul and I were the "cool aunt and uncle" by flying them to dallas all the time to visit! Jeff, Kori, Jenn & Chad would have their dream houses and a place here in Dallas so they can always come visit too!

Five Jobs I've had:
  1. The Buckle
  2. J.C. Penney
  3. Padnos
  4. Fairly Painless Advertising
  5. M2W Inc.

Five things people don't know about me:
  1. I receive and read 5 magazines a month but haven't read an entire book since 2004
  2. I really like to cook. Funny since my mom only makes reservations?
  3. I have unusually small feet for my height -- size 6.5 and I'm 5'6"
  4. I'm a clean freak -- It's been quite a transition living with a boy!!!
  5. I cry at EVERYTHING too Kate! Even Idol gets me a little choked up!

My turn to tag! I'll tag Martha DeWitt

St. Patty's Day on Greenville Ave!

Paul and I had one helluva Irish celebratory weekend in honor of St. Patrick's Day -- True Irish food and all! We had Shepard's pie, cabbage and Guinness at a dinner party after an entire day of drinking on Greenville Ave. It was rough making it out for "round two" but I must say the food was pretty delicious!

Trip to Michigan

This past weekend I headed to Michigan (with all my time off and all!) to visit my family and friends. My brother Jeff picked me up from GRR on Thursday and I visited with him, Kori and my sister, Jenn, who was also in GR for a conference. We caught up over dinner and drinks -- It was great since the holidays were so hectic and don't allow much time to chat and that was the last time we'd all been together!
The next day Jenn and I headed into Holland and met my mom, dad and my nephews, Colin & Connor for lunch. From the looks of it my mom had had a rough morning with the boys... needless to say they had been naughty! (peeing in the empty jacuzzi tub?)
But we headed to Grandville to do some shopping...I guess you can call it shopping? GameStop, K.B. Toys and Dicks Sporting Goods! The nephews sure crack me up. They could each pick out one toy in K.B. Toys which took about an hour for a $1.99 gun and $.99 squiggle pen! Good times!
That evening my Dad took us to Vitales Pizza -- the new HOT spot in Zeeland. Now that they have their liquor license they're doing great business! So, my sister and I had our first cocktail in Zeeland, (legally!)
Saturday was a whirlwind but was so great seeing so many people while I was in town! That morning my family went to see my cousin, Allie, play in a Volleyball tourney at Holland Christian so I was able to see my aunt and uncle! Then, I met Simon's for lunch at the new City Vue restaurant downtown Holland. What a lovely place! Afterwards I headed to DeWitt's to see Martha & little Jacob. He's absolutely adorable! I didn't stay too long though, for fear of baby fever!!!That evening my sister and I met Dave, Tom, Brum, Jen, and the Deckers at the Curraugh for dinner and drinks...oh, and the DUKE game :-) It was so great catching up with friends -- love you all!
Sunday the family met at my folks house for lunch and visited once last time before I flew home. My grandma, Oscar and his son Jeff came too. It was a wonderful way to end a fantastic weekend!
Here's Dad, Jenn & I enjoying our Cocktail's in ZEELAND!

Here's the Nephew's sumo-wrestling. They sure make you laugh and remember to have fun in life!

Here's Colin at Allie's Volleyball game -- He just looks like trouble, huh?

Connor's Nintendo DS battery died so he's hooked up to the plug in the wall. I don't even think he notices all the lovely looking volleyball players that have surrounded him?

The DUKE boys at City Vue :-)

FLURRIES!!!

Last week Dallas saw the slushy white stuff!!!! Yes, it closed down the city due to one inch of snow! I only saw some, (pictured below) because I headed off to Michigan to visit family and get my fill of "real snow"

However, Paul (and the rest of the city) got sent home from work at 3pm and were told to go directly home and stay put. No one was to be on the roads! Of course he laughed and was the first one at work the next morning! :-)

Look at this car? I don't think he has a snow scrapper?

These are the stairs going up to our apartment. Must be careful -- they're icy!

Beautiful Weekend!

It was a lovely weekend in Dallas -- high 70's and sunny. Everyone was out and about enjoying the weather -- Milo had to say hi to everyone on our walks. It's like he knows he's cute and just eats it up when people pet him! On Saturday morning while Paul put in a few hours at American I went for a long jog and then we went for a late lunch with Derek Johnson at Berry Hill. Derek just got his new BMW five- series so he was pretty pumped...to say the least!
That evening Paul and I had dinner and drinks with a family friend of my Uncle Rex, Mary Ann. She's re-locating to Dallas and just settled on an apartment so we went out to celebrate over margaritas and fajitas, (when in Rome!) Then just when I thought I had my last cocktail Paul talked me into going downtown for a night-cap. We met up with a few of his law friends from American. A few of them just finished the Texas Bar exam and were out celebrating!
Here's Paul and I enjoying lunch outside!

The loves of my life! Gotta love lazy Sundays :-)
